I was at J-Town Elementary school this weekend.
There are some really cool "green" elements at this school.
First I saw a dumpster for recyclables
There is a vegetable garden, which the faculty and students help maintain and use the produce.
There is also a butterfly garden, a sensory garden with herbs like mint, cilantro along that let the children experience nature as the might not have before.
There is also a solar-powered water-fall, and windmill.
This elements are a nice addition to an otherwise dingy backyard of the school. Also its a great way to introduce younger generation to the idea of sustainability/ local gardening.
