The work is created with organic materials like grass and dirt
along side of laminated latex with the soil is stored in.
each of the plateaus are built-up with laminated latex. The process takes about a month for all fifty panel and requires 640 pounds of liquid latex and 400 yards of fabrics.
The artist is interested in " the relationship between the two elements, life-support (irrigation) and organism (grass) is symbolic for the survival of life forms in unnatural and uninhabitable places."
there is a "negotiation" that must happen as people happen upon each other between the plateaus.
"the negotiation and subsequent compromise in how to proceed through the corridors becomes allegorical for the cooperation necessary between human beings to assist and sustain the environment, particularly in places where different cultural groups share the same ecosystem"
